yup yup yup

Well, despite being up now for over 24 hours straight today was a pretty cool day.

I went to Trevor's for a bit and we played some WoW and Mario Kart. Ended up helping Geoff finally get his epic horse so that was pretty cool.

Then I left and James convinced me to take him to Future Shop for a midnight launch of Grand Theft Auto IV. I only did it because he offered to buy me a copy of the game...I'm not huge on the series and never have been, but the 30 minutes I've played of this so far have been really good. Everything feels far more real now and tons of little details have been added.

Also the story seems more "I'm desperate and will do anything to survive" instead of "hey lets become criminals and get rich by killing people!"

The actual wait was pretty insane. We got there 20 minutes or so before the store opened and there were probably over 100 people there already, but we got in line anyway...and seriously not even 5 minutes after we did there were probably another 100 behind us.

So lots of stand but it wasn't too bad. Everyone was pretty cool and relaxed and not all super nerdy.

Highlight of the night was when some car drove buy and a guy leaned out the passenger window and shouted at the top of his lungs "FUCK YOU GUYS! GEARS OF WAAAAAAAR!"

we all laughed at how random it was.

Kind of a cool experience overall, but I probably won't do it again because there really isn't a point for me.

Well, maybe for a new Zelda game or something.

Anyway I am off to bed. see ya!

games are fun.

Lately I've realized I have too many games to play. I tend to buy them and not finish, always meaning to go back and beat them.

So the past few days I've kicked it into high gear.

My brother and I played through Army of Two and it is perhaps the most fun I've had with a co-op game in a long while. It's short, but man is it sweet.

It tends to bring out the worst in us though. My mom was upstairs and we were playing in the family room and all she heard was us swearing and yelling at each other to "kill that fucking prick to the left" and so on.

I also yell at him because he's a fucking Rambo whereas I like to take it slow and be tactical. So I spend more time reviving him than killing bad guys. fuckin guy.

Anyway it's fun stuff.

Also I've been playing Okami for the Wii and I am completely in love with it.

Ever since it was released on the PS2 I've wanted to play it, but didn't want to buy another system.

It's pretty much Zelda with perhaps more character and tons of Japanese legends and myths thrown in. The visuals are some of the most amazing things I've seen. Technically I guess it doesn't look as good as a 360 game or anything, but I mean in terms of artistic style, it's incredible.

and now Mario Kart Wii is out but I think I'm gonna wait a bit for that I think until I finish some other shit like Devil May cry 4 (borrowed) Opoona, Fire Emblem and so on.

It's getting a little insane.

And WoW.

Jesus Geoff did you get that horse yet? if not let's kick it into high gear sometime on Monday and/or Tuesday.

Music

M83's "Saturdays=youth" is something I'd been looking forward to for a good while. And now that it's here I wanted to let you all know (despite you not caring) that it is pretty awesome.

I can't rank it amongst their other albums, it's too early for that, but it's certainly better than the previous effort, which was a bit of a letdown in some ways (and yet so awesome in others).

The songs sound more like songs than on the other albums though...meaning, I can actually imagine hearing some of these on the radio. "Graveyard girl" and "Kim & Jessie" in particular.

Whether that's good or not, I'm not sure yet. It's just kind of odd.

I am sure that it's full of great music from start to finish though. If you like this sort of stuff, anyway.

Another band I wanted to mention is Faunts.

I first learned of them upon beating Mass Effect and hearing the end credits song "M4 (part II)". I did some research and got some of their CD's and have been listening since.

Plus, they are from Edmonton. That's kinda cool in my book.

your guts are like mine.

I guess I'll update this thing, even though I have nothing to say.

I was prescribed some Amitriptyline the other day.

You know how when you get a prescription filled they always give you that little info sheet? It's always pretty funny to read because more often than not the common side effects to taking the drug are what the drug is supposed to be helping with. what's the deal with that?

oh and also the big "CHILDREN, TEENAGERS, AND ADULTS WHO TAKE THIS MEDICINE MAY BE AT INCREASED RISK FOR SUICIDAL THOUGHTS OR ACTIONS" warning made me chuckle.

All things aside, I'm not big on taking any medication unless I really have to, and I'm extra hesitant to take anything labeled an "anti depressant" but it's a low dose and I am primarily taking it as a sleep aid (so I take one two hours before I lay down) which is supposed to help with these pains/headaches I've been having.

So I'll give it a shot...but if it makes me feel any worse or significantly different in a creepy way I will stop and tell him to shove his meds.

but listen guys, if I start to act suicidal I want you to be straight up with me ok?

He also recommended I do some research on Fibromyalgia because it's a possible candidate for what might be bothering me I suppose.

In other non medication news...wait... I guess I don't have any other news or shit to talk about.

I am going to go watch some videos of girls making out. See you guys later.
