Last time here

I got Two CD's a couple days ago.

The first is The Album Leaf- One day I'll be on time and the other is Tristeza- Dream signals in full circles.

The album leaf is absolutely full of some of the most beautiful and thought provoking music I have ever heard. It's very dreamlike, the sort of stuff you can listen to while your mind conjures up memories and images of places you've never even been.

It's mostly acoustic guitar, piano and some electronic stuff, and it's brilliant.

Tristeza is the same, but has more of a "band" feel, or something. Think Mogwai but even more mellow.

I'm mentioning these bands because not only are they incredible, but it's as if the songs they wrote were made exactly for me, meaning...This is exactly what I like my music to be. It's incredible to me and I love the feeling of finding new music that you know is gonna stick with you for a long time.

So check them out if you've got some time and enjoy instrumental/post rock.

In other news the Oilers just beat the Ducks which means they are moving on to the Stanley cup finals for the first time since 1990.
For an eighth place seed to make it this far is pretty incredible, even if they don't win.

If they do win...Watch out, this city is going to tear itself apart.

My dad made a comment that he's been waiting 16 years for this, for our team to finally be back where they used to be and it made me think of all the times I would sit and watch playoff games with him when I was a kid.
I guess that's the reason I am so into hockey. It's been in my life for so long.

So, good work Oilers. This next round is going to be wild.

I'm not sick. I couldn't help it.

Well, Trevor pretty much said all I was going to say in his latest post, but here goes anyway.

Him and I saw See no evil tonight and it's safe to say we both had the lowest expectations possible, it being WWE (yes, the wrestling company) film and all.

Now, it was a pretty mediocre film in many regards. Being a horror fan it's easy to see all the twist and turns coming. It was pretty standard and the acting wasn't exactly good, but the movie is a winner for one simple reason:

it was fucking hilarious.

I don't know if Trevor and I are just morbid motherfuckers, but I was almost in tears from laughing so hard, and near the end I just couldn't hold it in.

As Trevor said it's not that death is all that funny, it's just the way it was filmed. Watching some old bag get thrown clear across a room into some SPIKES that just happen to be sticking out of the wall is hilarious to see, mostly because it showed her flying toward the camera before we hear the meaty THUD. haha.

Now, I watch plenty of horror films with plenty of deaths and most of them do not make me laugh one bit...But there was something special about this film.

One of the best scenes is Kane finding a hiding girl because her phone starts ringing, so he proceeds to literally shove it down her throat...Like RIGHT down her throat, and then she chokes to death. I laughed and smiled because There are so many people I'd love to see that happen to, you know, like those prissy bitches who live with a goddamn phone attached to their ears.

Take that.

I like to see people die in the bloodiest, funniest and most imaginable ways, and this movie brought a lot of that to the table, it was not overly bloody but it was gruesome enough to keep me entertained and hilarious is so many ways.

Best Comedy of the year.

Tango

I don't like my job.

The past few weeks of it especially, but last night was just mean.

I told myself I was going to leave it at that, but I can't. I said I wasn't going to say anything about the people I work with...but that's impossible, so here goes:

I hope you all choke to death in your sleep.

There.

You could say it was "one of those days" but I got to thinking "those days" are happening far too often these days, and that, for me, is a problem.

I know I bitch too much about my job and people will just tell me to quit and find another one but it's not that easy. For a lot of reasons.

I wish I could quit and do nothing at least for a month or so. Nothing but whatever the hell I feel like doing.

But our world would have you believe that as soon as you grow up, it's your duty to get a job and make money so that you can spend it on shit that you don't need.

That's how life is, they tell you, and it doesn't matter that you're a miserable piece of shit with a completely sour taste in your mouth 90% of the time based on the shit you've got to swallow on a daily basis.

That part of life just does not matter.

I don't think I need comments on this one because to be honest, I don't much care what you think.

shit, bitches.

Well.

Not much to say, really. Same old shit going on.

E3 has been happening the past few days. I like it because it's a time when nerds come together and be NERDS. I spent plenty of time refreshing pages on variou sites just to get new info.

Overall I think Nintendo has had a great show so far and could have stolen the show already. What with the PS3 costing 600 AMERICAN dollars (or 500 for a gimped version). That is crazy and a lot of people are starting to wonder what the hell.

It's time for a change and a different way to play, a lot of people are now realizing after finally seeing the games. Seeing is believing.

More On the thought of games:

This man is very seriously a genius. I don't say that lightly. On my list of the five people in the world I would most like to hug, he would be number one.

I'd also like to shake his hand and tell him what a magnificent person he is.

How does one mind come up with Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong and oversee so many other great games like Star Fox and Pikmin.

He's amazing because to him it's about FUN and feeling like a kid in a playground again. It's not about blood or swearing or violence.

One of the most creative, brilliant minds in the world.

Shigeru Miyamoto, I salute you.

Oh and also:

MOTHER FUCKING KID ICARUS.
MOTHER FUCKING PIT IS MOTHER FUCKING BACK. In Smash Bros. Form, but I'll take what I can get!

Over and out for now.

PS. Panic at the disco? more like shit at the disco!
PPS. Red hot chilli peppers? more like Red hot SHIT ON A STICK!

Smoking is cool

Well I can't sleep, so I decided I'd ramble on a bit.

Trevor and I saw Thank you for smoking tonight...or last night...Or whatever.

It was very enjoyable and at times incredibly funny. It's a movie about big tobacco and the man who has to defend it to the public.

It's done very well as it doesn't take any single side, and yet clearly (I thought) delivers a message on just how much money the tobacco industry makes off of selling death to human beings. At the same time it's clearly advocating choice and self education on the subject.

So it's full of dark type humour indeed. A very good movie that entertains with laughs and crazy characters and yet remains very smart.

I should also rant about the Edmonton Oilers.

On Monday they mounted an incredible third period come back, scoring 4 goals and winning the series.
I love it when the number one team in the league falls to a team like the Oilers. A team that plays with heart and does not give up.

Watching that third period and hearing the crowd absolutely lose it is exactly why hockey is the greatest game on earth. No question.

I wonder if we'll play Calgary next or not. It would be nice. If they can win their series.
