Random topics, GO

You know what I hate most about winter? my skin being so dry that it cracks and bleeds without me even touching it.

Same goes for the nose bleeds that plague me. so far it's been better than most years, but I can recall sitting and having it bleed for over an hour at a time, a few times a week.

A while ago I ordered some Saddle bags for my bike and I got them last week.

I did a decent amount of research, and really wanted something cheap but durable, easy to strap on/remove and also not too bulky.

So I was pointed to these bad boys made for sport touring bikes and for the awesome price I found them for on Ebay, I grabbed them.

I don't need anything too bulky and just wanted a bit of extra room to store maybe a change of clothes/jacket as well as water/food, netbook and tool kit just in case.

I plan on going some greater distances this summer (whether I get a new bike or not) and don't want to wear a backback while doing so. To work and around town it is fine, but for riding more than an hour at a time, it gets irritating.

But I'm also not gonna go TOO far, so I don't feel the need for a tankbag/hard shelled panniers or anything of that nature. Plus, I don't have the cash for them even if I did.

These are awesome looking, but $1700 is too rich for my blood.

The American Dollar is an awesome band with a terrible name, but I suggest people check 'em out if they like ambient/post rock whatever the fuck you want to classify it as.

I suggest doing the right thing and downloading all six of their albums for $30 If your taste is remotely similar to mine, you probably won't be let down and that is a fucking awesome and fair deal as far as prices or music go.

Awesome shit.

One more for the road: (and a video that doesn't suck)

Time to sit on my ass and play some video games.

Random stuff.

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION:

To make every damn thing glow an eerie blue

Before some faggy debate starts, it did not cost me one million dollars like my mouse (though it is the same company). I got it during a boxing day sale (online) because I'd wanted a wired keyboard for some time.

My Logitech one, while great, has been acting up a lot lately. Random keys would get "stuck" and go crazy for 15 seconds at a time. Obviously it wasn't the actual keys, rather the bluetooth going wonky. I can live with a wired keyboard, but never a mouse.

Anyway, I am typing up this post mainly to really give it a go and see how I like it.

What's odd is that every time I get a new keyboard I go through a phase of "yuck, this thing feels so odd" but then eventually get used to it and love it. Same goes for this one. but I'm already enjoying it and the satisfying click sound it makes.

It's backlit, as the picture obviously tries to show and has a black "mirror" finish, both features I don't really give a shit about. Black shiny things are fingerprint and smudge magnets and it seems kind of odd having it on a KEYBOARD, but it does look damn cool and I've never cared before, so whatever.

In other news, yesterday my facebook account was disabled and I got an email saying that it may have been hijacked by "cyber criminals" looking to scam friends and so on.

What is strange to me is exactly how they came across that conclusion, being that nothing had been changed and I was logged on and hour before they locked it down.

Anyway, I honestly found myself not giving a shit. I've thought about deleting my account a few times anyway, just because the site is so...pointless to me.

I didn't miss it at all during the 6 or so hours where it didn't exist.

Regardless, I followed their steps to get it back and all is good. I will now resume updating my status and other inane things.

I don't quite understand the desire to hack facebook accounts (or whatever the fuck they do) but I suppose that's just how the internet is. Robots and weirdos EVERYWHERE.

I changed my email password as well, since they suggested I do so. That's something that should have been done a while ago, since it's been the same one word password since 1999.

Final thought: you know what's a shitty movie? This one.

I hate Cell phones.

Or cell phone providers. I really do.

Here's the story:

Ever since I got my new phone and switched to Rogers I've been amazingly happy with the phone itself, the service/speeds and so on...but I am not happy about the bills I've been getting and their fees for anything extra.

I KNOW that as soon as you get any device considered to be a "Smart Phone" you have to add a data plan, (which is $40 a month minimum or whatever) and then you have to add the other bits of your plan that you want.

I accepted that fact when I signed up, expecting my monthly bills to be around $65.

The first month I got a huge ass bill, partly because you always do for your first month, but also because according to them their "unlimited text messages" plan only includes texts within Canada.

Send one anywhere else and it will cost you 25 cents. 25 cents per tiny, insignificant piece of data.

It might not sound like a lot, but it's the fact that you get charged at all the pisses me off. Telus never charged me extra when I was with them.

Of course it wouldn't be so bad, but Stephanie won't stop sexting me. It's outrageous.

And then there's the fact that they have probably the worst website design in the history of the fucking internet making it nearly impossible to find information on what you're looking for.

my bills have been around $80-$130 since I signed up with them and I'm kind of sick of it. Maybe you pay for better service and this is what it costs, right?

yeah, maybe, but then I start to thinking about how little I really use my phone in the first place and begin dreaming of just chucking it and not getting another one ever again.

As it stands I am probably going to hit up the Rogers store this week and ask some questions about changing my plan to save me some cash because I'm not paying this money for a phone I don't even really use.

If I can't get something a little more sensible ironed out I will probably just pay the cancellation fee (which I found out is a maximum of $400) and be phone free for a while because not only am I bitter, but I'm in the process of trying to SAVE money and pay off debts, not spend it on invisible shit like cell phone plans.

I may also consider going back to Telus who have better plans, or at least plans that are A LOT more clear and easy to understand.

I'd love to get one of these bad boys when they come out here, because I want to play around with an android based phone, but...meh.

I hated Telus at the time I switched, because their service out here is beyond pathetic, but looking back, all I had at the time was a generic cdma phone so that might be why.

Also, apparently they have upgraded their network recently and it is now the most advanced in Canada...we'll see though. i had their mobile 3G internet thing for a few months and their coverage was pathetic.

On the whole, though, I think all Canadians should be pissed off at the rates we are subjected to, with little or no competition, they a pretty much not going to come down anytime soon and instead we'll all just continue to get raped in the ass by fees that are straight out of fucking 1996, like cell phones are just catching on and they know we'll pay.

Fuck them all and their stupid fucking contracts too.

I should just go back to using my old piece of shit and paying $30 a month.
