Good Day

I am finally in possession of legit copy of the album "Bellaclava" by Limblifter. It's been out of print for the last few years and has thus, been very hard to find, it seems.

I got it used off some seller in the Amazon marketplace, it's in mint condition and was not very expensive, so it was worth the wait.

I also got some movies today including The Brown Bunny Which was written, directed and produced by Vincent Gallo, the man behind the phenomenal film Buffalo '66.

I read plenty about the film, including the controversy behind it before it was released, and it was nice to finally see it.

I don't exactly know how I feel about the film...More than half of it is probably scenes of Gallo (a motorcycle racer) driving down highways or through cities, all filmed from a jumpy camera placed in an odd position, featuring hardly any dialogue.

Now, you can say the film is basically a realistic way of showing a man and his journey through various cities (New Hampshire to Los Angeles) but then you'd have to ask yourself...Does this make for an entertaining movie? And something you want to view for an hour and a half?

The answer, at least for me, is yes. It's original in a sense that is unlike anything I've seen.

It's a slow ride for most of the film, and then in the last half hour, it's kicked into high gear and everything sort of falls into place, I don't mind that sort of pacing, but a lot of people do.

Oh, and the controversy surrounding the film comes from a "graphic sex scene" which has been called "one of the frankest portrayals of male sexuality ever seen in American cinema" basically what it boils down to is an on screen (or real, if you prefer) oral sex scene, which yes, is a bit shocking to see, I admit...But it's more of an intense scene than it is a purely sexual one, at least for me, anyway.

I guess all forms of violence are still fine, but when there is a sex scene, and, oh my god, a penis it's time to get crazy and plaster labels of "ADULTS ONLY" all over the DVD case.

Contrary to what some people might tell you, it's not a goddamn porn film.

weirdos.

blow jobs aside, it's worth watching at least once if you want to see a film by a very talented director. Just make sure you open your mind.

oh, no babe today, I'm far too lazy.

That sounds like my kind of film. Penis or no penis.

I will watch it and get back to you. Provided I can find it, of course.

I'll have to look into it.

Yeah, the first two albums are a lot harder to find now that they are out of print, but they do show up sometimes, it seems.
