Radio is getting slightly better.

Radio sucks, let's be honest. It has for a very, very long time now. You can turn on any station and hear the same old crap being played over and over. It's horrid.

However, the newest Radio Station around Edmonton is Sonic 102.9 And I have to say it's pretty good as far as radio goes. They like to call it "Modern Rock".

I've heard plenty of good stuff like: Matthew Good, Limblifter, Metric, Rage Against The Machine and the Arcade Fire, which alone, makes them pretty cool in my book.

Though they sure do play some crap. Crap such as Oasis, Our Lady Peace, Coldplay (mostly that new song) and Sublime.

Seriously I'd rather listen to an entire Britney Spears album than one Sublime song, there is just something about those guys that fills me with rage. It's just stupid, terrible and AMAZINGLY annoying music.

Though, I recognize everyone has an opinion and taste, and radio stations have the impossible task of trying to satisfy everyone all the time...so they still win out over every other station in the City.

It's also cool 'cause they are the little guys. the underdogs. You gotta admire that.

Still, If given a choice, I'll pop in a CD.

And Oasis!

Come on!! They DEFINE complaint rock!

But for you to rather listen to Britney, of all people, over Sublime..well..something tells me there is no convincing you otherwise.

Radio can only be good for so long before it gets right back where it started. So Sonic plays good music. How long will it be before you shoot the radio out because they played Apparitions or Neighborhood #1 too many times?

You're good to stick with the CD's.

And the old Our Lady Peace wasn't too bad. It's only after they released Gravity that I was sure they were goners.

yeah, exactly.

I just mentioned the station because it is what we listen to at work, and it's a VAST step up from what I used to have to listen to.
