Your retard president got re-elected by retard people.

So I was having a chat with that American girl (Stephanie) about politics and how retarded George Bush really is and I got to thinking...

How is it Americans and American Government type folk thought it was necessary to impeach a president for having oral sex in his office, yet they see no bad when their current leader commits (or has others) commit murder on a massive scale for absolutely no reason (other than money)

Why do they think there is nothing wrong with a president making outrageous (and proven false) claims that weapons of mass destruction exist in another country and then proceeding to bomb it into the ground?

How do they justify the spending of millions and millions on a fake and well advertised "war on terror" when their unemployment and homeless rates, not to mention debt, are through the roof?

Honest to god... has everyone except me gone fucking nuts? How the fuck is this lunatic still in power?

How and why do the American people sit around and not care? I've sat here for hours thinking it over...I just don't get it. I never will. How the fuck can they sleep at night knowing someone like George Bush determines it all for them?

I would flip out. I would go insane.

This world is completely fucked up.

Hhhhhhhhhh

The whole impeachment thing (he actually wasn't impeached)--who knows what the fuck that was all about.

I neither agree nor disagree with you, it's just that there is a whole hell of a lot more going on that NO ONE even knows about, for better or worse.

Ooooooooog.

Finland, anyone?

I cannot stand that "Hicks & Red Necks" stigma. It give 'ludicrous' an entirely new definition.

bah all Americans are redneck hicks, just like all Canadians live in igloos, eat whale blubber, and every day is constantly -40 or less…

The problem with Americans is they are by definition, Stupid!! Which I don’t have a problem with you don’t feel like educating yourself with the politics and the shit that’s going on around you on a global level, that’s fine that’s your choice. The problem is that when you put a bunch of stupid, un-educated people together they form a majority, which in the states case is overpowering the people that give a shit.

Bush on the other knows this and is exploiting it to his advantage. Ten to one odds, next election (figuratively speaking, being that presidents can only serve two terms so it wont happen) but if Bush handed out iPods or shotguns to every person in states that voted for him he would get in, simply because the people don’t care, and iPods are the coolest invention ever.

It's a North American trait, D. We have a democracy so we can choose not to vote, we have National Defense so we can attack other nations, and we have Free Trade so we can protect our national businesses.

You aren't the only one who's sane... or lets put it this way; you're not the only one who's insane.

They're thinking about putting Jeb Bush on the 'pub ticket next. I'm honestly hoping that something... like God for example, comes and sinks our large Atlantis, before that day comes.

Way to contradict yourself Trev.

And Raine:

*I'm honestly hoping that something... like God for example, comes and sinks our large Atlantis, before that day comes.*

Most effective plan of action I've heard. And I say that sincerely.

Also, thank you for not placing some fucking ridiculous stereotype on the US.

Stephanie, I enjoy your view of "something might be wrong, but I'm not sure" maybe that is the same way most others feel. Maybe that is the problem.

It matters no if there is "a whole hell of a lot more going on that no one knows about" All you have to do is look at what you DO know, all you have to do is look at FACTS to see how sick of a situation we are in.

Though you and many people everyday choose not to see this. Does it offer you comfort?

I mean really, I'm looking for actual answers to the questions in my initial post. If you can't give them to me, who can?

I'm tired of it.

so sit back and refute the ridiculous stereotypes all you want, but right now it's pretty much the only angle the rest of the world has to go on.

and Raine, If Jeb Bush gets any closer to having real power like that of the president... I swear to god every piece of remaining faith I have in America (the people, They can't all be clueless) will be destroyed.

"All you have to do is look at what you DO know, all you have to do is look at FACTS to see how sick of a situation we are in."

My point is that YEAH, we have some facts before us but we don't have ALL of them, and I refuse to base an opinion on something as complex as this without understanding the entirety of the situation.

And who's to say that all of the FACTS are actually FACTUAL?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"so sit back and refute the ridiculous stereotypes all you want, but right now it's pretty much the only angle the rest of the world has to go on."
I fully intend on refuting them because I KNOW for a (genuine) FACT that they are fucking false!
You cannot take a small kernel of something you think you know and turn it into something that is the gospel truth and hide behind it as an excuse for your opinion. You just can't and remain credible.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"...real power like that of the president..."

Maybe I've mentioned this before, but the president, as a solitary being, does not have absolute power. Every action goes through Congress.

We would not still be at war without Congressional support.

He needs both the advice of the Senate and 2/3 of the Senate on his side to do pretty much anything.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"How the fuck can they sleep at night knowing someone like George Bush determines it all for them?"
Well, Daniel because to a great extent the president is merely a figurehead. Our nation's decisions are put into motion or made by our Congresional leaders, which the majority of are elected by the people. We know who we've put in there. We trust who we've put in there to a reasonable extent to do what we believe is right.
So that's how we sleep at night.
And I resent being labled as a stupid or apathetic human being for actions that my country set into motion long before I was even born.
haha, you actually believe in your system and your government...that's rich. Seriously, wow.
do you REALLY know who you've put in there? I highly doubt it.
You don't think Goverments/president have connections, or ways to push bills and laws? think about it.
you put entirely too much faith into a system that has been broken for decades, my friend. Everybody does.
And your comments would then mean you believe everything your government has done since Bush came into power is right. If so, please get your head checked.
and you know, when I refer to "your president" or George Bush as president, I mean his entire government. I thought that was obvious.
Also, I never really stereotyped anyone, I was not the one who refered to Americans as rednecks.
All I meant by my "refuting" comment is that you'd be very, very angered by what people from other countries think of your population, and to them it seems right, because there seems no other explanation. and I can't say I blame them.
PS. the original post was almost entirely an opinion.
I know and I know.
And I'm not even going to bother arguing about anything else as clearly, with this audience, it would be completely in vain.
"it would be completely in vain."
Such is discussing politics. I've heard it likened to (pardon my colourful language) verbal masturbation, where everyone feels good about getting their opinion off.
Honestly, everyone, don't worry about it. The president doesn't have absolute power, but he's representative of a system. That makes him a target.
If you want perspective on this, lets use my home: Canada. I don't hear anyone calling down Paul Martin for Canada's military occupation of Haiti.
Yes, there is a military occupation there by Canadian troops. No, it's not technically "legal" under the United Nations. Why is nobody badgering Martin? The casualty count from Canada's occupation is so close to zero that everyone just rounds down... that, and it's much easier to beat on representative of a system that has bloodied it's hands in no small manner.
Arguing semantics, and why people don't do anything about the "trouble" in the geo-political arena is pointless. The problems start with the people, and it's their right to vote and support for whoever they want. If the American people want to vote for Jeb, it's their own foot their shooting, and whoever's underneath that foot. That's their choice, and they'll have to live with it.
Hence why, if such a thing happens, I'm hoping a higher (or perhaps more benevolent) power will step in and spare us more bloodshed and foolery.
