Chances are if you are around my age (or older, considering the date the book was published) you read "where the wild things are" when you were a kid and thought it was awesome.
And it still is, because like most excellent pieces of art, it is quite timeless.
So you can imagine how weird it is seeing a trailer for a movie adaptation:
and also feeling that somehow, they actually nailed it dead on.
the look of the monsters is perfect and just sends waves of nostalgia throughout my body. Maybe this will be one "family film" actually worth watching. Something that despite being for "kids" sort of reaches EVERYBODY.
Shit like Harry Potter and all those mindless CG movies featuring talking animals/robots/whatever don't do shit for me.
