WELL,
I just saw Silent Hill with Sir Trevor of Sunnyside.
It was a video game film that didn't suck and I am pretty surprised by that. My experience with the game is pretty limited, but I've played enough of them to know how disturbing they are, and the film is loaded with those same sorts of images, mood and overall atmosphere.
Also brilliant Camera work at times. Giving you a disorienting view really adds to the creepiness.
Best part: (spoiler, if you care) was watching Pyramid head rip the skin right off of some girl before tossing her corpse away like a piece of trash.
Now THAT, is a flaying.
Brilliant.
Certainly not a perfect film, but pretty damn cool and creepy and worth seeing for sure.
Also got to see a preview for A scanner darkly, which I've been keeping my eyes on for a while. It looks fucking awesome.

So..what is "Fuck Uwe Boll"?
Uwe Boll is the German born peice of shit that is single handily buying game to movie franchise rights, turning the movies into utter shit, all while making massive amounts of money.
Steph next time your in the mood for a really cheesy utter crap film, go rent House of the Dead. Awesome game until the film was Uwi“ized”.

No, not even. He's not even breaking even on the movies. The only reason he can keep making them is because the movies are made tax-free in Germany, and he also gets a grant back from the German government for supporting the film industry.
However, that's all going to change this year. The German government axed tax-exempt status for the film industry, and stopped giving out free grants, so if Mr. Boll makes a big flop, he's not going to continue making money from it... he's actually going to have to own up to the fact that his movies are shite and don't do the predecessor games justice.
I can't stand the fact that he disses his critics too. There are few things lower in my books than people who suck, but deny it every step of the way.
